About
Our mission is to create a caring educational environment where relevant life-long learning is promoted, citizenship is honored, and each student is inspired to excel.
The Naselle-Grays River Valley School District is located 30 miles east of the Pacific Ocean in southwest Washington. The 300 students occupy an elementary, middle, and high school. The district also operates Naselle Youth Camp School, a state institutional school for approximately 85 junior/senior high students. Special services are also provided through a cooperative program with the Educational Service District 112.
The basis for the economic stability of the district is logging, fishing, and farming. The largest employer is the Naselle Youth Camp, a correctional facility for juveniles.
Local residents value the un-crowded quality of life found in the area and regularly demonstrate their commitment to excellent education for their students through continual support of school district levies. Naselle is of interest to anyone who enjoys a quiet lifestyle, hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking. Astoria and Long Beach provide commercial and recreational needs, only 20 minutes away.
The Naselle-Grays River Valley School District is an equal opportunity educational institution and will not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, creed, religion, color, national origin, sexual orientation, gender expression, veteran or military status, disability, age, use of a guide dog or service animal, and, if applicable, will provide equal access to the Boy Scouts of America and other designated youth groups.
