Andover Chamber Music, which just completed its 15th anniversary season, was founded in 1997 by flutist Julie Scolnik and her husband, physicist Michael Brower.Scolnik was a busy free-lance musician in Boston when she moved with her young family to Andover, soon to discover a community that was eager to embrace her dream of bringing high caliber chamber music programs to their doorsteps. Audiences responded enthusiastically to the virtuosic and communicative artists she invited and over night Andover Chamber Music was born.ACM has a dual mission: to offer chamber music of the highest artistic standards to communities north of Boston, and to provide accessible and affordable musical enrichment to children and their families, those of lower incomes, and the elderly and physically disabled, who may not otherwise have an opportunity to hear a live, high-caliber performance.
