Mission:
The Mimbres Region Arts Council provides quality visual, performing, and youth arts programs that serve and strengthen our community.
Vision:
The Mimbres Region Arts Council is a leader in building communities inspired, enriched, and strengthened by the power of the arts. We provide quality programs that foster an appreciation and understanding of the arts, serve as a resource for artists and cultural entrepreneurs, and positively impact the area’s economy by creating and supporting events and experiences that enhance the region’s appeal as a premier destination.
About Us:
MRAC, founded in 1981, has 500 members who support activities in the Visual Arts, Performance Arts, Arts & Culture Tours, and Kennedy Center Youth Programs in the Silver City and Cobre Schools. In April, MRAC received New Mexico's "Best Arts Council" award for the third year in a row for its achievements in the region and for its hard-working volunteer organization.
We provide quality programs that foster an appreciation and understanding of the arts, serve as a resource for artists and cultural entrepreneurs, and positively impact the area’s economy by creating and supporting events and experiences that enhance the region’s appeal as a premier destination.
Our outreach extends to residents of all ages in the Mimbres Region communities, students and educators in the Silver, Cobre and Deming schools, local artists, arts organizations, cultural entrepreneurs, tourists, business owners and through an educational partnership.
Our programs include the Performance Series, Indie/Folk Series, Youth Outreach Performances, Youth Mural Program, Public Sculpture Program, Artist Lecture Series, Two FREE Music Festivals, and PNM Fine Arts Fridays Program.
