The Museum preserves historic collections, research materials, photographs, manuscripts, and publications relating to Mansfield history. The Edith Mason library contains over 500 books and other local history items. Talented, dedicated members identify, accession, and catalog artifacts, books, and other memorabilia, arrange changing exhibits each season from the museum's various collections and welcome loans from friends.
Mansfield's old Town Hall stands next to the Museum. The "Town House" as it was known in earlier days is Mansfield's oldest public building still standing, and was the seat of Mansfield's government and political life for 128 years. The 1843 building has been re-opened with exhibits and photographs commemorating the town's political history and former officials.
Both museums have been especially created for Mansfield residents and visitors, and to honor Mansfield's history. A cordial invitation is extended to all to come and enjoy the displays.
