Lake County Women's Coalition assembled in July 1995 to plan a Tea Party in celebration of the 75^th anniversary of the Women's Suffrage Amendment, and continues today as a permanent alliance. Its community activities support voter registration, celebrate Women's History Month, promote literacy projects, advocate participation by member organizations, work towards legislation involving women and children, and hold an annual Tea Party to raise funds for two $1,000 scholarships at the College of Lake County to encourage education for women returning to studies.
