Kiwanis Club of Darien
The Kiwanis Club of Darien , is a non-profit service organization dedicated to the needs of the Darien community with special emphasis on youth.
The Darien Kiwanis Club , chartered in April 1929, is an organization of community minded men and women who raise funds to provide educational aid to deserving high school and college students, support local youth activities, and other community activities that benefit the Town of Darien,it's surrounding area,and the New England Kiwanis District Pediatric Trauma Institute, in Boston, MA.
The club is affiliated with the Kiwanis International organization which has more than 310,000 members worldwide(8,842 clubs, 81 nations and geographic areas).
Major fund raising activities include: biannual Florida citrus sales, annual golf outing, Vacation raffle, red cross Tail Gate Tag Sale. Annual contributions total in excess of $30,000.
