History

Located in Northeast Philadelphia, Jeanes Hospital was formed in 1928 through a provision in the will of Anna T. Jeanes, a Philadelphia Quaker. The provisions in the will were for the establishment of a hospital for “Cancerous, Nervous and Disabling Ailments.”  The hospital’s focus changed over the years and today Jeanes is a thriving community hospital that provides a range of adult medical and surgical services. Jeanes Hospital joined the Temple University Health System in 1996.
