About Us:

In 1920 a small band of believers came together to establish a church in East Camden. Their original intention was to have a Baptist church close to the Hermitage mill village where they worked and lived. Little did they know that Hermitage Baptist church would impact lives not only in their little village but throughout the world.

Today our church is a lighthouse to its community, and almost a century later we feel as if we are just getting started. Hermitage Baptist church is a member of the Kershaw Baptist Association, the South Carolina Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention.

We have a passion for missions on the local, state and international level, and we are fully supportive of the Cooperative Program. We seek to lead our people to a saving faith in Jesus Christ, nurture that faith through discipleship, and train those believers to carry the good news of the gospel to the world. Part of that discipleship process is a fully age graded Sunday school program.

Our worship services are a blend of traditional and contemporary musical selections centered around a Christ centered message. Opportunities for deepening the faith through Bible study are also offered throughout the week. There is a place for everyone here at Hermitage, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
