Haiku Elementary School is a kindergarten through fifth grade elementary school located on the slopes of Haleakala in the upcountry community of Haiku. Haiku Elementary School offers a comprehensive kindergarten through fifth grade curriculum in a rural setting, with large open spaces for free play. Haiku Elementary is part of the Kekaulike Complex that, at the end of the 2012-2013 school year, served 4,073 students in seven schools: five elementary (grades K-5), one intermediate (grades 6-8) and one high school (grades 9-12).  Four years ago, the complex schools served 3,947 students.

Three- and four-year-old preschool special education students can participate in an inclusion classroom with Maui Economic Opportunity’s Head Start program or in a self-contained classroom, which are both housed on the campus. The school is committed to integrating the arts, technology, and wellness into the curriculum to allow students to grow and explore in a multi-cultural and ever-changing world.
