The GFWC Wilbraham Junior Women's Club was formed in 1977 by a group of women interested in the betterment of our community. Our purpose remains to conduct civic and cultural projects throughout our area and to attract women to our cause through the promotion of goodwill and friendship.
GFWC was founded in April 1890, when sixty-one clubs from around the country convened in New York and formed the General Federal Of Women's Clubs.
The Wilbraham Juniors are a busy and active club with many ongoing projects.
We are proud of:
Breakfast with the Easter Bunny started in 1993, a community event featuring great food, costumed characters, raffle baskets, face painting, and much more! Fashion Show featuring designers such as Chico's and Talbot's, featuring our very own juniors as models. Complete with spectacular raffle baskets! Sewing Circle in 1996, to meet the demands of many projects which required or benefited from handmade items, the "circle" was formed. The group is called together on an needed basis. Past items include, smile bags, operation smile dolls, lap pillows, Linis blankets, Peach Festival, Rays of Hope Walk-A-Thon for breast cancer research, Various local shelters for abused women, teenage mothers, and a safe place for latch key children.
