The Gettysburg Adams Chamber of Commerce is a member-focused not-for-profit community service organization dedicated to providing and promoting business opportunities and connections that promote and enhance county-wide economic and civic well being.
Principles:
In order to achieve its Mission, the Chamber operates under the following Guiding Principles:
The Gettysburg Adams Chamber of Commerce was incorporated in 1919, 150 years after the first Chamber was founded in New York City. Originally, Chambers were founded to "encourage commerce, support industry, adjust disputes relative to trade and navigation and produce such laws and regulations as may be found necessary for the benefit of trade in general." Today the Gettysburg Adams Chamber of Commerce still follows these original objectives, but they have expanded to include the community's welfare as a top priority. For over 80 years, the Gettysburg Adams Chamber of Commerce has served the greater part of Adams County.
