Forest Akers Golf Courses are recognized as two of the best public golf courses in the state of Michigan and home to the Big Ten champion Michigan State University Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams.
The West Course was redesigned by Michigan State alumnus Arthur Hills in 1992. Renovations include extending the length of the course to over 7,000 yards, new bent grass greens, 18 new bent grass tees, new rye fairway grass, and all new bunkers.
The East Course was redesigned in 1997 in changing from par 71 to par 72. Numerous trees and bunkers were also added. The most extensive improvement was the addition of the new Golf Center.
