Floodwater Comedy Festival is an annual festival with a cause that could only happen here in Iowa City. We can’t wait for you to join us February 27th - February 29th, 2020 for a weekend of love, representation and laughs— all in the name of bringing our community together, and making a real impact for the causes you care about.
Floodwater Comedy Festival isn’t just about comedy— it’s about community. Every spring, we bring all of downtown Iowa City to life with a unique atmosphere of positivity, collaboration and kindness for one really special weekend.
After polling our community about the causes that matter most to you, Floodwater is proud to direct its proceeds towards its two charitable partners: CommUnity and the National Alliance on Mental Health Johnson County chapter. In 2018, we donated $1,500 to each charity, and in 2019 past year were able to give $1,000. We hope to surpass these donation numbers in 2020!
It’s always been the core of Floodwater Comedy Festival’s mission to help showcase the groups often marginalized in comedy. We strive to bring you performers from all over the country who reflect the wide spectrum of perspectives that color our world.
Beyond that, we want to unite students, long standing community members and national comedy friends for an experience we can all share together.
There’s only one thing the Floodwater Team likes as much as making a difference—and that’s making you laugh your stupid little **** off. Every year, we bring you 75+ hilarious comedians from all over Iowa, and all over the country, to perform standup, improv, sketch, alternative comedy and more.
Floodwater 2020 is committed to curating an exceptional line-up of acclaimed comedic talent from far-and-wide, and putting together a wild weekend that transforms Iowa City into a one-of-a-kind bastion of funny, weird, sweet good times.
It’s a lot of fun!
