The First Presbyterian Church of Cushing, Oklahoma was the result of the pioneering efforts of Rev. D.A. McLaury, who has descendents in the church today. He gathered together a congregation in the Lone Oak District, five miles south of Cushing. He was aided by the Rev. F.M. Bonebrake, a Quaker, who later became an ordained Presbyterian minister (he also has descendents in today's church). Working with them was R.L. Phelps, a Synodical Missionary, who assisted them in forming the core of today's church. Christ Centered,
Caring Fellowship, Community Focused.
