Mission Statement:
The Fairhaven Public Schools, in partnership with families and the community, will ensure high-level learning for all children in a safe environment, so each can become independent, productive, and successful.

Vision Statement:
Education in Fairhaven is designed to address the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical needs of students through the study of curricula that has purpose and meaning in their lives. This is best accomplished through the application of a pedagogy that encourages the development of habits of mind, and ways of thinking and behaving that characterize the life-long learner. In the Fairhaven Public Schools, students, parents, staff, and the community share in the learning process.

The leadership and personnel of the Fairhaven School System recognize that the principles and goals embodied in the school system’s mission statement and vision statement must be acted on to have value. To that end, the statement of purpose will guide policy, personnel, programs, curriculum, instruction, and assessment decisions. The statement of purpose will serve as the standard by which all decisions will be made, implemented, and evaluated. It is the intent of the Fairhaven School System to make its statement of purpose visible, dynamic, and indispensable in its everyday operations. The Fairhaven School System aims to have its statement of purpose evident at all levels of governance, operations, and implementation from the school committee and the superintendent to every classroom teacher, support person, and administrator within the district.
