Engage 360 is California's smart energy initiative. The statewide, multi-year project has a goal of ensuring a brighter and stronger future for everyone by inspiring and guiding Californians to achieve a 20 percent reduction in their home energy use by 2020. Across the state, families, community leaders, government organizations and utilities are coming together around Engage 360 to focus on energy efficiency and conservation. 

With a growing population, increasing fuel and energy prices, greater global competition and the pressing need to improve air quality, there has never been a more important time for energy efficiency in California. Engage 360's development was spurred by California's long-term energy efficiency plan, which recognized the need to:

• Encourage California's 36 million residents to embrace behavior that saves energy, reduces air pollution, supports clean energy solutions and increases the state's economic competitiveness and security
• Increase awareness of and participation in activities that reduce energy use

Engage 360 involves statewide efforts, including community events and grassroots outreach, through which Californians can learn about the simple ways they can get involved in energy efficiency and energy conservation in their communities and in their own homes.
