The Eastern Maumee Bay Arts Council is a not-for profit group that seeks to expand awareness of the Arts in the tri-county corners area of Lucas, Ottawa, and Wood counties, in rural northwestern Ohio. The Council works to provide exposure for local visual and performing artists, and create more work opportunities for our members, and the community at large. Eastern Maumee Bay Arts Council plans to hold up to four non-fundraising events and four fundraising events per year.
The Council was begun in 2000 through a grant opportunity
created by Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, HUD, and the Ohio Arts Council's Black
Swamp Rural Arts Initiative. We also received matching funds from the local
community. We continue to apply for and receive grants, but to an
ever-increasing degree, we are able to make our operating budget through local
fundraising.
Going forward, EMBAC plans to hold up to four non-fundraising events and four fundraising events per year. We invite everyone from our area and around the state to contact us to talk further about what the Art Council can do for the arts in our area.
