Founded in 1975, the Darien Arts Center is dedicated to supporting and fostering a greater appreciation of, and participation in, the visual and performing arts for all members of the community and has been an important part of the cultural life of Darien for more than 25 years. A volunteer board of directors and important committees and boards represent the various areas of interest and oversee the diverse activities of the DAC and its programs including the Darien Players, the Cabaret and Special Events, the Connecticut Choraliers, the Darien Dance Center, Darien Music Center and the Visual Arts Center. The DAC also co-sponsors the Darien Library Theatre.
Our classes are filled with close to 800 students of all ages taking part in the DAC’s programs each week. Hundreds more are involved with the performing arm of the Center. The programs would not be possible without the encouragement of the thousands of area residents who come out in support of these events and have stood by us and helped us grow into the successful and thriving organization we are today. For that we say “thank you!” And we promise we will continue to present the very best theatre, music, dance and visual arts to you and to your families for generations to come.
The DAC is funded exclusively by tuition, ticket sales and donations. Please support the arts in Darien by becoming a member of the Darien Arts Center, volunteering on committees, participating in our programs and attending our events.
The office hours are 10:00am-4:00pm Monday through Friday. For information on classes, activities, or if you are interested in volunteering for any of our programs, please call 655-8683. For information or tickets for events please call the box office number, 655-5414.
