Mission Statement:

The mission statement of the Cleveland Public School Athletic Department is to develop superior athletic performance, high academic expectations, strong team commitment, responsible behavior, and good sportsmanship in the student athlete.

Goals:

Develop policies that promote academic and social success such that athletics is seen as an extension of the classroom, where skills of leadership, communication, goal-setting, organization, work ethic, self-discipline, perseverance, cooperation, loyalty, honesty, perspective, and relationships can develop.

Provide an environment where students are encouraged to participate in as many sports as possible.

Organize and provide facilities, equipment and programs that develop athletes' speed, agility, strength and conditioning.

Provide coaching staff that develop athletes' knowledge of the game, team concept, and skill level for their respective sport.

Develop policies that build and promote outstanding sportsmanship.

Create an environment where winning and success are life long expectations.
