The Salem Parks and Recreation Department strives to utilize the City's parkland resources to provide a wide variety of programs for all of Salem's residents. Under our care are Winter Island, Olde Salem Greens Golf Course, McCabe Marina and Recreation Area, Salem Willows Park, Salem Woods, Forest River Park and pool, as well as the operation of the Witch House and the Haunted City program. Within our parks we manage 22 basketball courts, 20 playgrounds, 10 baseball/softball fields, 6 tennis courts, 5 beaches, 2 street hockey courts and 1 skate park.
These wonderful resources have given us the opportunity to offer to you a unique experience for fitness, fun and a stronger community. We have looked to today's trends in fitness and recreation to shape our activities and matched them with our parkland resources and water environment. We've used our open space to offer healthier lifestyles and fun for the whole family. Park programs are no longer just for kids.

Best of all, we've developed a self-supporting system to fund these programs, and because of their popularity, we have been able to add more than 100 new programs in the past few years without increasing our budgetary needs. We hope that you and your family will join us for a new Salem experience.
