Founded in 1999, the CLA is a non-profit multi-disciplinary arts organization that operates the Space 301 Gallery in downtown Mobile, Alabama.

The Centre for the Living Arts (CLA) is dedicated to the creation and presentation of contemporary visual and performing arts and to advancing the culture and quality of life in Mobile through unprecedented community engagement. With a programmatic focus on issues relevant to the Gulf Coast, the CLA applies creativity and innovation to the pressing needs of the day by marshalling global artistic talent and forming strategic alliances with other cultural, social, educational, and civic institutions. The goal of the CLA is to create a national model for constructive community building through the arts.
