About
The Gresham Center for the Arts Foundation is a non-profit organization with a vision to enrich our community by vibrant and diverse artistic experiences. The Foundation seeks to promote sustained development of the arts by cultivating necessary resources.
The Foundation’s various artistic endeavors enhance the development of community values and provides opportunities for performance and self-expression. These artistic performances provide employment, attract visitors and promote economic development. A long-term goal of the Foundation is to advocate for a community center for the arts.
The Foundation is constantly seeking methods to promote the arts and to encourage your support. The Foundation is supporting musical theater performance workshops for youth and adults this summer with both Corbett Children’s Theater and Stumptown Stages. Currently the Foundation is sponsoring the creation of a public art mural on the wall of the building at 3rd and Roberts. Thanks to artist Lee Lauritzen, multiple scenes of the historic development of the City
of Gresham are depicted on the mural which is scheduled for completion this fall. Your contributions allow us to support these programs. We welcome and are always interested in new Board members and volunteers. Social media support also enhances our success.
For 9 years Music Mondays on Gresham’s Art Plaza has been an annual weekly event for July and August. Various musical groups provide free concerts every Monday night. Upcoming on August 14 is a special program featuring the High Tide Beach Boys with a beach party 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm. This will be a late afternoon and evening of “beach” fun with beer, wine, food and kid activities. Special features include a sand sculpture, a silent auction, and surprises in support of the Center for the Arts Foundation.
