Mission:
4-H empowers youth to reach their full potential, working and learning in partnership with caring adults, in a hands-on environment.
Story:
4-H Youth Development in Cass County is a community of young people ages 5-18 learning leadership, citizenship and life skills. 4-H members participate in fun, hands-on learning activities with focuses on science, engineering and technology, healthy living, and citizenship.
Traditional clubs, special interest clubs and afterschool clubs offer meetings, community service and a variety of events and activities engage youth, enabling them to have fun, meet new friends and learn new skills. Youth choose project areas of interest to them and learn life skills such as responsibility, decision-making, public speaking and leadership.
Adult volunteer leaders teach projects to youth using the "learn-by-doing" method. NDSU Extension Service 4-H is the largest and the only research based youth organization in the state.
