About
The Buzzards Bay Film Festival is a celebration of Buzzards Bay, a 233-square mile estuary in Southeastern Massachusetts nestled between the mainland shore, western Cape Cod, and the Elizabeth Islands. The Buzzards Bay Film Festival will focus on the Bay, its watershed, and the 360,000 people who live in its surrounding towns and cities.
The Festival began its first season in 2012 with a cell phone video contest and a three-day festival of films screened in Falmouth and New Bedford.
This year we're concentrating on the Shoot the Summer Cell Phone Video contest. Contestants are asked to send in a 60-second or less cell phone video shot in, on, or around Buzzards Bay.
We're awarding weekly prizes and a grand prize of $1,000, based on popular vote.
The contest is open to all. Whether you're a student, a seasoned professional or an inspired amateur, enter the contest and send us your video.
All proceeds from the Festival will be dedicated to the Buzzards Bay Coalition, a membership-supported nonprofit organization dedicated to the restoration, protection and sustainable use and enjoyment of our irreplaceable Bay and its watershed. The Coalition works to improve the health of the Bay ecosystem for all through education, conservation, research and advocacy.
