Mission :

The Burke Arts Council, founded in 1975, is a nonprofit, tax exempt corporation funded by individual memberships, private and municipal contributions, and grants from the North Carolina Arts Council.  The Burke Arts Coun­cil houses two gal­leries which pro­vide exhi­bi­tion space for regional and national artists.

We present fine art exhibitions throughout the year including the Western North Carolina Studio Glass Exhibition and the annual Woodworks Exhibit.  We promote and support emerging as well as established artists of every artistic medium.  Our fundraising/ community events include the annual October Oyster Outing, the Taste of Home Cooking School, and the Burke Arts Council 300.  We co-sponsor the Downtown Morganton Third Thursday Art Crawls and Studio Tours.

We are a designated partner for the distribution of grants from the North Carolina Arts Council and the Regional Artists Program Grant – all which support arts organizations and individual artists in Burke County.
