Bridgewater Township, located at the crossroads of Somerset County, offers its residents many unique and exciting recreation programs for all ages to enjoy.

The primary service of the Bridgewater Recreation Department is to provide opportunities for enriching the lives and meeting the recreational needs of Bridgewater Residents.

The Recreation Department seeks to promote a spirit of cooperation, build self-esteem, encourage healthy competition and develop lifelong recreational interests among all program participants.

Bridgewater Township covers approximately 32.6 square miles with a population (2004) of 44,000. Its close proximity to New York City, the Pocono Mountains and Jersey shore allow residents great opportunities to attend Broadway shows, sporting events, skiing, and leisure time on the beach.

Bridgewater Recreation also works with the Somerset County Therapeutic Program offering many diverse and quality programs for the disabled and special needs population. A TTD phone line at town hall is offered for the hearing impaired.
