1910 The Baptists decided to erect a church building, since its membership had increased to about 100 and the Sunday School even more. The church minutes of August 17, 1910, show that the church was called into conference in order to make plans to erect a building.

1928 The Sunday School of Brent Baptist Church was recognized as the only Advanced Standard Sunday School in the State of Alabama and as one of only three in the United States.

1973 On May 27th, a tornado completely wiped out the town of Brent, including the Brent Baptist Church building. The following Sunday, the congregation met as usual, sat on folding chairds under the bright sun where the church had been and held its regular service.

1975 The dedication service for the new church building was held on May 25th.

1975-1986 Rev. Robert H. Johnston became the pastor of Brent Baptist Church. During his ministry, the Brotherhood began a van ministry to Nursing Home. Since Brother Bob and his wife, Jean, continued to live in Brent and continued as members of the church, the church honored him by making him Pastor Emeritus, the first one to hold that position.

1987-1993 Rev. Michael E. Grindle began his ministry and made plans to expand the church on te property behind the church. The new fellowship hall with additional classroom space was dedicated during his ministry.

1994-Present Dr. Robert F. Crider serves as pastor. Dr. Crider and his wife, Barbara, had served as Southern Baptist missionaries in Spain for the past 26 years. During his ministry Dr. Crider has led the church to open The Caring Center, a ministry to the needy of the community. Also, Barbara helped establish a ministry to the Spanish speaking people of the community including teaching a Bible class and interpreting the morning worship.

2004 The Johnston Family Life Center was built and dedicated in honor of Robert & Jean Johnston, partners in life and ministry, who together preached Christ, witnessed grace to all, and lived the gifts of the spirit. Their service among Brent Baptist Church shines as an example of Christian dedication for present and future generations.
