This is a group of certified volunteers who have completed the County of San Diego CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) courses for disasters.
This team meets quarterly in Campo or another designated back country community to discuss past disasters, and to better prepare for possible future ones. The wild land fires in 2003 were instrumental in the startup of the CERT teams.
In the October 2007 fires, the CERT teams responded widely and were the major contributing volunteers to man shelters, assess the burned out areas and help those in need with their time.
