Our Mission is that Big Brothers Big Sisters of Adams County shall help empower at-risk youth to make responsible life choices, to reach their fullest potential, and to enhance their community through professionally supervised mentoring relationships with adult and student volunteer role models.
Our Vision is to create and to support positive mentoring relationships between student and adult volunteers and every eligible at-risk youth in Adams County.
Big Brothers Big Sisters was founded in 1904, and has since grown to become one of the oldest and biggest one-on-one youth service organizations in the nation. This Congressionally chartered, national federation works through over 500 affiliated member agencies to provide one-on-one services to children in need of an adult mentor.
Today, Big Brothers Big Sisters serves more than 200,000 children in more than 5,000 communities across the country.
National research has shown that the positive relationships between Big Brothers and Big Sisters and their Littles have a direct, measurable, and lasting impact on children's lives.
