Bear River State Park is a day use only park comprised of 324 acres. It is home to small herds of bison and elk and boasts several miles of both paved and packed gravel trails. The Bear River State Park Visitor Center is home to numerous wildlife displays that showcase Wyoming’s impressive array of wildlife. It also provides visitors with State of Wyoming tourism information. Bear River State Park is located south of I-80 at exit 6 in Evanston, WY. All trails are open to bikes. There are additional trails located on Uinta County property just southeast of the park including a pump track.

Wildlife Viewing
There are great opportunities to view wildlife throughout Bear River State Park. Some common species you may encounter are moose, elk, pronghorn antelope, Canada geese, sandhill cranes, bald eagles, red-tailed hawks, great-horned owls, Uinta ground squirrels, cottontail rabbits, jackrabbits, neotropical migratory birds & more. Also, don’t forget our captive elk & bison herd!
Winter Sports
Winter sports such as sledding the Buffalo Run sledding hill at the Visitor Center, cross-country skiing & snowshoeing in the Park are available as snow conditions allow.
