Following Neal's 2018 retirement, and the duo’s 2022 induction into the New England Music Hall of Fame, co-founder Rex Fowler continues to expand Aztec Two-Step's musical legacy alongside his wife Dodie Pettit, an accomplished singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Dodie was an original member of Broadway’s The Phantom of the Opera as well as other Tony Award-winning productions. Now, as Aztec Two-Step 2.0, Rex, Dodie, and their 3-piece backing band have been impressing audiences with their dazzling musicianship, intelligent songwriting, and soaring 3-part harmonies. Together, they have recaptured the multi-layered dimension of Rex & Neal’s original studio recordings by performing the band’s fan favorites and forgotten gems. Rex’s stage patter is still as engaging, fun, and poignant as ever.
“The old songs done in this new lineup brought new life to the music. This truly is a band that people need to experience!!” - Ron Olesko, WFDU-FM/ Folk Music Notebook
