About the Gallery
The Anderson Gallery, a non-profit exhibition space on the campus of Drake University in Des Moines, was founded in 1996 to exhibit and support innovation in art and design. Part laboratory, part showcase, the Gallery's main goal is to promote the growth and understanding of art through exhibitions, programs, and publications.
Mission
The Gallery mission is to advance the educational, cultural, and social mission of Drake University by presenting art exhibitions of aesthetic and intellectual merit to the university community and the public. In form and content these exhibitions will be consistent with the high educational standards of the Department of Art and Design.
In addition, the Gallery will allow students to gain experience in proper museum and gallery procedures. The Gallery will also serve as a venue for annual exhibitions by art students and biennial exhibitions by faculty.
