Allentown School District Planetarium

815 North Irving Street
484-765-5557

The A.S.D. Planetarium is a unique science laboratory which can accurately simulate the night sky from any location on earth, along with the various motions of the earth, moon, and planets. This allows for a tremendous amount of flexibility in programming. From simple sky shows illustrating the constellations and their mythologies to describing how the heavens appeared at the time of the construction of the Great Pyramid at Giza, or providing an astronomical explanation for the "Star of Bethlehem," the A.S.D. Planetarium can be your transportation mechanism across time and space. Witness the clockwork universe: the dance of the planets, the motion of the moon, the mystery of eclipses, or the changing seasons and how ancient cultures harnessed this knowledge to create calendars. Study the solar system in detail, the life histories of stars; learn the intricacies of navigation, or simply how to tell directions by watching the sun or finding the North Star.
