About Us :

A southwest Georgia institution since 1935, the non-profit Albany Concert Association was founded for the purpose of presenting a variety of high quality concerts performed by nationally and internationally known established artists as well as rising young artists. Over the years programming has included symphonies, ballets, operas, vocal and instrumental soloists and groups, popular musicals, and an occasional “big band.” Highlights have included the Atlanta, Dallas, and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestras, the American, Atlanta, and Glasnost Ballets, the Ballet Gran Folklorico de Mexico, the Robert Joffrey Ballet, Van Cliburn, Robert Merrill, Roberta Peters, and violinists Chee-Yun and Annette Chang.

Many of the artists participate in community outreach, lecture-demonstrations, and master classes in local schools and colleges. In the last nineteen years alone, over 17,500 students have had an opportunity to see a visiting artist perform in their own schools. For these students and others, the Albany Concert Association has been a mainstay and a tradition providing quality events that enrich the lives of citizens in and around Albany.
