Rare book collectors who have moved to the sunshine state have often brought their quality, collectible books with them. For over 30 years, A. Parker's Books and Book Bazaar have been in close relationships with these collectors and have been able to acquire many antiquarian libraries in addition to providing up to date appraisals for them. We also offer guidance for collection development, assisting the beginning and seasoned collector in rounding out their personal library. Another service we offer is space planning and design for residential and corporate libraries; we can create a lovely and highly functional library for you with custom shelving and archival features to house, protect and preserve your books.

A. Parker's Books and Book Bazaar is located in downtown Sarasota, on the West Coast of Florida, the heart of the antique estate market.  Our Main Street location houses a large array of used, scholarly and antiquarian books for the antiquarian collector and the avid reader.

We feel very strongly in the power of reading, education and community support.  With the approval of the Literacy Council of Sarasota, we have declared the 8th of every month to be Sarasota Literacy Day.  On these days, we proudly offer a 10% discount to Sarasota's hard-working literacy tutors. We gratefully accept monetary donations for the Literacy Council of Sarasota during our regular business hours, making sure that 100% of these donations are relayed to them.  Another very worthy cause to which we donate is Take Stock in Children, Sarasota County.  This fine organization facilitates mentoring and scholarship programs for Sarasota's deserving at-risk children, believing as we do, that reading and education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Our 4-legged friends are not forgotten, either.  Each month, we donate a Gift Certificate from our stores to the first adopter for that month of a retired greyhound from Sarasota's Racing Dog Rescue Project.
