World War II was threatening democracy around the world. The troops on the battlefront and their loved ones on the homefront needed some kind of assurance and support to ease their fears. Composers and lyricists wrote songs that were heard on radios, along with FDR’s Fireside Chats, to inspire and unite a worried nation. These songs boosted morale at home and abroad and have stood the test of time.

Commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII and the service of all veterans, Woodland Opera House presents Sentimental Journey: The Songs That Won The War. Written and directed by Gil and Lenore Sebastian, this musical revue fund-raiser features an all-star cast: Bob Cooner, Jori Gonzales-Solorio, Robert Vann, Jadi Galloway, Lenore Sebastian, Joe Alkire, and Gil Sebastian, with Dean Mora at the piano.

Enjoy classics like Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Chattanooga Choo Choo, As Time Goes By, Swinging on a Star, Accentuate the Positive, I’ll Be Home For Christmas, and many, many more.

Curtis Fritz presents Something Rotten!

June 13-28

Something Rotten! is a musical comedy that parodies Shakespeare and the history of theater. It tells the story of the Bottom brothers, Nick and Nigel, who are struggling playwrights in 1595 London. They seek the help of a soothsayer, who predicts that the future of theater involves singing, dancing, and acting at the same time. They try to create the world's first musical, but face competition and challenges from Shakespeare and others.

Opening June 13, Something Rotten! tickets are on sale now! Grab yours today.

The Senior Recital 2025 highlights the graduating seniors from the class of 2025. The graduating seniors who have been either a part of the Woodland Opera House education program or have graced the stage as a Rising Star, Theater for Families or Main Stage are getting together to create an original performance for their family, friends, and community to enjoy. The performance will showcase a variety of talents from singing to dancing. Join us on May 31st at 7PM at the Woodland Opera House to watch the class of 2025 celebrate their major milestone in song and dance!

We will be requesting donations at the door, and you may pay what you will. No reservation is necessary. Once costs are covered the remaining amount will go towards the Angela Baltezore College Scholarship which provides scholarships to graduating seniors pursuing their post-secondary education in performing arts. Please come and enjoy many of these youth who have grown up in the Woodland Opera House community. We look forward to seeing you at this momentous event!
