Friends of Sherwood Island - September 8

This is a once a year opportunity to gather at the park in the evening to enjoy music and a Lobster/Salmon/Steak dinner (catered by Westfair Fish & Chips), with others who love our park.

There is a silent auction with many unique items including our local restaurants, tours of Prospect Gardens, Aspetuck brew lab and a fishing charter with Westport’s Captain Blake Smith

All proceeds go directly to projects within the park some of which are listed below:

- 140 ft of new dunes-3600 American Beach Grass plants

- Invasive species eradication

- owl habitat restoration project underway

- fall and spring tree plantings

- nature center intern program

- speaker programs on raptors, horseshoe crabs, turtles and insects.

Next year we hope to restore and expand our eagle and osprey nest cams. We've also committed to partner with DEEP to assist in funding various projects within the nature center.

Space is limited. Tickets can be purchased at  friendsofsherwoodisland.org
