CHARLESTON, WV - The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra (WVSO) invites the public to AVN Corp. Symphony Sunday, on Sunday, June 2 on the University of Charleston lawn.

This long-time tradition on the lawn of the University of Charleston celebrates some of the community’s most beloved music from the AARP West Virginia Main Stage, food court sponsored by Advanced Physical Therapy, CAMC Women’s & Children’s crafts, lawn games and face painting sponsored by WV American Water, and McKinley Carter Wealth Services Artisan Area beginning at 2 p.m. The day caps off with a grand finale performance by the state’s premier orchestra and a fireworks display presented by the Charleston Convention & Visitor’s Bureau that illuminates the West Virginia Capitol.

Chairman & CEO. “As a West Virginia-based company, AVN Corp. is thrilled to have supported the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra for the past six years, including five years as the title sponsor of this event, as we continue bringing our community together for incredible music, food, and entertainment.”

This year’s theme is “Wild, Wild West Virginia Symphony” to celebrate all things country and western. The program for the evening’s WVSO concert will include pieces by Rossini, Copland, Sousa, Williams and will feature a special performance by Jenny Allinder, fiddle, and Jim Mullins, guitar/banjo. While the entertainment and children’s activities are free thanks to the day’s sponsors, vendors will also be on site to sell a variety of crafts, beverages, and food. AVN Corp. Symphony Sunday 2024 is presented by the West Virginia Symphony League Committee.

A special VIP reception, sponsored by Steptoe & Johnson, PLLC will be held from 6-10 p.m. and gives guests exclusive access to watch the performances from atop UC’s rotunda and patio. Heavy hor d’oeuvres, beer, wine and champagne will be served.
