From: West Virginia Symphony OrchestraThe West Virginia Symphony Orchestra (WVSO) presents its celebrated holiday favorite, Sounds of the Season, on Dec. 2, 3, and 4 in select venues across the state.
Returning Guest Conductor and crowd favorite Michelle Merrill will lead the WVSO in a festive holiday show, featuring selections like “The First Noel,” “Deck the Halls,” “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” and “The Polar Express Suite.” The time-honored tradition showcases the WVSO with impressive vocal numbers featuring the WVSO Chorus, the WV State University Chorus, the University of Charleston Choir, and the Symphony Chorus of Parkersburg, and as well as an appearance from Father Christmas himself.
"There's something for everyone at this year's sounds of the season concert - and we are looking forward to sharing some cheer with you and yours at the start of this merry season!" said guest conductor Michelle Merrill.
The ZMM Architects and Engineers Pops Series concert on Saturday, Dec. 3 is made possible by the generous support of City National Bank, the West Virginia Lottery, and ConServ Inc. In addition to the Charleston performance, the WVSO will perform Sounds of the Season at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2 at Carnegie Hall in Lewisburg. The WVSO will also perform Sounds of the Season at Blennerhassett School in Parkersburg beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4. Hosted by the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra of Parkersburg, tickets for the concert start at $25 for adults or $10 for students and are available at wvsop.org, at the door, or by calling 888.699.8767 (MYWVSOP).
