On Saturday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Clay Center in Charleston, guest conductor and candidate for the WVSO’s next Music Director, Timothy Verville will lead the orchestra through a program featuring music from Aurturo Márquez and Glinka featuring a side-by-side with the West Virginia Youth Symphony, concluding with a performance of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4. Additionally, Astral Artist Christopher Goodpasture makes his debut with the WVSO as the guest pianist during Gershwin’s Piano Concerto in F Major.
“I can think of no better way to wrap up a season such as this than with the energetic and engaging music of Marquez, Gershwin, and Tchaikovsky,” said Music Director candidate Timothy Verville. “I’m also greatly looking forward to the West Virginia Youth Symphony joining us with an exciting side-by-side performance as well! I know audiences will enjoy experiencing a bit of dance music, a jazz-inspired piano concerto, and of course, we conclude with fate hanging in the balance (literally!).”
