Modern Works Festival: Winner Announced!

Congratulations to, Brenda Withers, winner of Urbanite Theatre’s 4th Modern Works Festival! Brenda’s work, WESTMINSTER, tells the story of what ensues when Pia is gifted a surprise rescue dog by longtime friend, Krys. The women and their partners face off over issues of class, accountability, and good breeding as WESTMINSTER digs into "acceptable" social prejudices and the consequences of leaving those biases unchecked.

Festival Passholders who attended readings of all three finalists, WESTMINSTER by Brenda Withers, THE APIARY by Kate Douglas, and THERAPY by Jena Rashid, were invited to vote for their favorite work on Sunday.
