Reflections of Service in Honor of Veterans Day

LOCATION: Begins at George A. Pruitt Hall,

The morning will begin with a fun “ruck walk” from George A. Pruitt Hall, 301 W. State Street to the Kelsey Complex, 111 W. State Street, Trenton. We will arrive at the Kelsey Complex/Prudence Hall at 11:15 a.m. Refreshments will be served.
The military veteran Alumni, Staff and Student Discussion Panel will begin at noon. Panelists will discuss their experiences while serving in the military, opportunities and challenges they faced as they transitioned to civilian life, their experiences at TESU and how their education played a role in their careers.

Fall Lecture Series: William L. Kidder and “The Revolutionary World of a Free Black Man”
PRESENTED BY: Old Barracks Museum

William Kidder will discuss Jacob Francis’s experiences as an indentured servant, including his time as a soldier during the American Revolution, and later as a free man raising a family. Lectures will begin at 6 PM, followed by a Q&A and book signing. Admission is free. Light refreshments will be available.

Christmas Tree Lighting

The City of Trenton hosts an annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony outside City Hall every year during the first week of December. The ceremony features musical performances, Santa Claus, and refreshments. The Christmas Tree Lighting is a decades-old tradition, and our participation serves to link our rich past, present, and bright future.

Caroline Burton: Way Finding
PRESENTED BY: New Jersey State Museum

The New Jersey Artists Series returned on September 23 with the opening of the exhibition “Caroline Burton: Way Finding.” Burton, based in Jersey City, draws on architectural and agricultural forms, nature and elements of chance for inspiration in her process-driven canvases. An exhibition catalog will be available in the Museum Shop in October.

Its 45-year history of organizing exhibits includes such venues as the Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie, the New Jersey State Museum, Artworks Trenton, Prince Street Gallery in New York City, and more.
