Seattle Outdoor Theater Festival

The Seattle Outdoor Theater Festival began in 2001 when GreenStage, Theater Schmeater, and Seattle Shakespeare’s Wooden O joined forces to bring a full weekend of live theatre to Volunteer Park in Seattle. Since then the Seattle Outdoor Theater Festival has served as the unofficial launching pad for Seattle's summer outdoor theater season. The festival has grown to include three stages and over a dozen local companies... And it's all FREE!

Sound Operators & House Managers Wanted!

Sound Operator

Sound Operators are responsible for setting up the sound system, running a sound check, monitoring the levels, and taking the system down after show. Our simple sound systems consist of a small board, two speakers and speaker stands, three floor microphones, mic cables, extension cords, and a battery power source, all of which must be set up before and taken down after each performance. Prior experience working with microphones and sound board is a plus but not a requirement. We do not use recorded sound or sound cues.

A $500 stipend is paid at the end of the run.

House Manager

Each of our three productions tours to several different locations in and around Seattle. House Managers are responsible for setting up signboards, handing out programs, handling promotional items, collecting donations, and other tasks. The House Manager is often the only GreenStage representative available to the audience until after the show. Keeping a cheerful attitude, quickly addressing questions and/or issues, and setting expectations for the audience will ensure that everyone watching (and performing) has a positive experience.

A $500 stipend is paid at the end of the run.

Play Reading Series: A Midsummer Night's Dream

We're doing something a little different for our Play Reading Series in July! Instead of hosting it at Hattie's Hat we'll be gathering together in Volunteer Park on the Conservatory Lawn Saturday, July 13th during the Seattle Outdoor Theater Festival. You can participate in the reading or just sit back and let the words wash over you. We encourage you to bring a picnic. When the reading is over we invite you to join us to close the evening out with a performance of Twelfth Night on the Amphitheater Stage!

Where: Volunteer Park Conservatory Lawn 1247 15th Ave E, Seattle, WA 98112

When: Saturday, July 13th @ 4:00pm

Admission: FREE of course!

We need to raise money to produce Shakespeare in the Park this summer. Rising production costs have presented us with a challenge. We need to raise an extra $5,000 before the summer begins. If you are able, please pay it forward to our audiences this year. Your contributions help us pay for the zillions of things that go into putting on more than forty performances in 20-plus parks around the Seattle area. From costumes and props to actors to admin costs and everything in between, we rely on your support to keep performing every year. If you are able, please consider a donation to pay it forward to your entire community who relies on our FREE performances every summer.

Thank you for your support!
