It takes a lot of people to keep The Mark Twain House & Museum running every day. Meet some of them and learn what they like about working in a museum by clicking the video above.

FINAL WEEKS!

Now on View Through January 31 in our Museum Center!
The Printmakers’ Network of Southern New England (PNSNE) is a group of contemporary printmakers who for thirty years have worked collaboratively to present themed exhibits, portfolios and educational opportunities to the public. Reflecting different methods of print creation, these artists have challenged themselves to select quotes from Twain’s exhaustive writings to inspire their own work. What has resulted is a masterful exhibit of contemporary printmaking that includes art that links the past with the present, whether by showing the connections between Twain’s work and current issues of social justice, or by connecting Twain’s views on home, health and the human condition with views of our own time.

Admission is included with your house tour ticket or with a Museum Center Only Admission. LEARN MORE.

Tuesday, January 17 at 7pm ET - STATUS REVOLUTION: The Improbable Story of How the Lowbrow Became the Highbrow with Chuck Thompson and Henry Alford (Virtual)

Status was once easy to identify—fast cars, fancy shoes, sprawling estates, elite brands. But in place of Louboutins and Lamborghinis, the relevance of the rich, famous, and gauche is waning and a riveting revolution is underfoot.

In The Status Revolution, Chuck Thompson sets out to determine what “status” means today and learns that what was once considered the low life has become the high life.

Tuesday, January 31 at 7pm ET - STAYED ON FREEDOM: The Long History of Black Power Through One Family's Journey with Dan Berger, Zoharah Simmons, Michael Simmons and Dr. Christina Greer (V)

Historian Dan Berger shows, in Stayed on Freedom, how the Black Power movement derived much of its energy, like many radical movements, from the work of activists whose stories have never been told. Berger brings to the fore the stories of two such activists who dedicated their lives to the fight for freedom. Their commitment to each other and to social change took them on a decades-long journey that traversed first the country and then the world. Praised by both Imani Perry and Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor, Stayed on Freedom brings us on a journey that shows how a movement can unite individuals, communities, and generations in the United States and across the world. Special guests will include Zoharah Simmons and Michael Simmons—the subjects of Stayed on Freedom.
