Greetings and Happy New Year!

Here at The Ark much of our attention is focused on the upcoming Ann Arbor Folk Festival events in late January.  Don't forget our Folk Fest Warm-up: On A Winter's Night at The Ark on January 18 featuring John Gorka, Patty Larkin, Lucy Kaplansky, and Cliff Eberhardt.  These 4 longtime friends of The Ark will perform an intimate show in-the-round on The Ark's stage to shake off the chill of winter and get you in the mood for Folk Fest the next weekend. Then, Folk Fest is back at Hill Auditorium for two nights on Friday, January 26 featuring Old Crow Medicine Show, Devon Gilfillian, Bailen, Darren Kiely, and Sons of Mystro; and Saturday, January 27 featuring Emmylou Harris, Michigan Rattlers, Steve Poltz, Lizzie No, and The Sea The Sea.  Jeff Daniels MCs both nights!

But, of course, February is coming up fast after Folk Fest and The Ark is looking forward to a full calendar of events all month.  Highlights include Appalachian Roadshow with their blend of traditional Americana, bluegrass and folk on the 3rd, hilarious storytelling from Bil Lepp on the 4th, soul and funk from Michigan's Joe Hertler in a solo show on the 17th with special guest Phillip-Michael Scales, and The Ark's 37th annual Storytelling Festival February 23-25.
