From: The Plaza Arts CenterOver the past two weekends, over 1200 audience members saw the Plaza Alliance for the Performing Arts’ (PAPA) performance of Steel Magnolias, proving to be a huge hit for PAPA.
The cast and crew did a phenomenal job working on the show and making it as perfect as possible, and it paid off.
Several audience members took to Facebook to express their enjoyment of the show.
“It was fabulous,” Kelley Marie wrote. “Saw it the opening night. Congrats to all.”
Down to the details, the show, directed by Dottie and Dennis McClain, had all the classic moments that the audience knows and loves from the original Steel Magnolias story.
“I was super impressed that the ladies actually did each other’s hair during the play, and the hairdos all came out looking professional,” Anenaca Simpson commented. “Wonderful job all around!”
“We went Saturday night,” Arthur Shutt wrote. “Thoroughly enjoyed it. The cast was great!!!”
All in all, Steel Magnolias proved to be another wonderful production by PAPA. The Plaza is always the perfect backdrop for their performances.
PAPA’s next performance, ‘Don’t Dress for Dinner,’ will be in November of this year. Audition dates and times will be announced in print and on Facebook.
