You Are Invited To ...
An Evening With Author Cheryl Grey Bostrom

Northwest Iowa library staff and trustees are cordially invited to an evening with author Cheryl Grey Bostrom on Thursday November 2nd at Northwestern College in Orange City.  Ms. Bostrom is the author of Sugar Birds, the title chosen for the One Book, One Sioux County program this year.

Sponsored by the Libraries of Sioux County, the evening begins with "Dinner With The Author" at 5:30PM, followed by her presentation at 7:00PM.  The dinner is free to all attendees, although pre-registration is required; the author talk is also free.  It all happens at the DeWitt Library on Northwestern College Campus.

Organizers are asking for pre-registration so they know how many people to plan for.  They ask that you register for each event separately; find links to registration at the button below. 

About One Book, One Sioux County: This countywide reading program is a collaborative program among the 8 public and 3 academic libraries in Sioux County, fostering community building through shared conversation.  The committee has an established selection criteria, including that the books being considered are written at a college / adult level, have broad appeal, and lead to in-depth discussions.  Books can be either fiction or non-fiction.  The committee strives to provide a balance between fiction and non-fiction over time, but does not necessarily alternate between the two.

About The Author

For most of her life, Pacific Northwest naturalist, photographer, poet, and author Cheryl Grey Bostrom has lived in the rural and wild lands that infuse her writing. Her work has appeared in a wide variety of print and online publications, currently including the American Scientific Affiliation’s God and Nature Magazine (for which she’s a regular photo essayist) and her blog titled Watching Nature, Seeing Life.  A member of the Redbud Writers Guild, she has authored two non-fiction books and the award-winning novel Sugar Birds.

About The Book

For years, Harris Hayes has taught his daughter, Aggie, the ways of the northern woods.
