From: State Library of IowaHappy New Year!
At the close of one year and start of the next, I want to dedicate the CE Newsletter to a couple more announcement-y type things, rather than our usual calendar of events. However, that doesn't mean we don't have A LOT planned for early 2024, including:
- Summer Reading Training for Youth and Adults
- Solar Eclipse Programming Training
- All Iowa Reads Author Visits
- And More!

Read on for some exciting news about a WebJunction integration, the full ILOC schedule, and changes to the list of free nationwide CE published monthly. My best for a happy and peaceful New Year!

WebJunction Integration
If you're not familiar with WebJunction from OCLC, they provide quality, online continuing education to those working in libraries. It does require you to create an account, but it is all free to you -- thanks to support agreements from the State Library of Iowa and other state libraries.
You've always been able to submit hours from OCLC towards your Endorsement renewals, but as of January 1, 2024, hours earned through WebJunction will be automatically applied to your IA Learns account. You can expect to see hours on your account on or near the 1st day of the following month (for example, a course completed on January 15 will be on your IA Learns transcript after February 1). The completion date of your coursework in IA Learns will match your WebJunction certificate.
Going forward, you do NOT need to fill out the request for External CE Credit form for WebJunction content for any course completed after January 1. It will simply be added to your IA Learns transcript!
Reach out with any questions ([email protected]).
