New Series: Lunch with the State Library
Monthly on the First Tuesday from 12:15 - 12:45 p.m.

Soup's on! Introducing Lunch with the State Library, a year-long series of short sessions designed to give library workers a high-level overview of a featured product or service available to them through the State Library so they can most effectively take advantage and use it in their library. Our learning objectives are for you to be able to:

  • Describe the product/service showcased that month
  • Determine if/how you want to use that product/service in your library
  • Explain the value of that product/service to your staff, board, and patrons

Introduction to WhoFi’s Question Sets (Two Identical Sessions)
Wednesday, June 21, 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Friday, June 23, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

WhoFi’s Ashleigh Matos will introduce us to “Question Sets:” a new service available to remove the many burdens involved throughout the library statistics collection and reporting process. Question Sets standardizes and centralizes the unique information libraries collect throughout the year. And, it can auto-fill some questions on the Annual Survey for you each year!

This webinar will focus on popular social media platforms and best practices to ensure the information your library is sharing can be accessed by screen readers. We’ll showcase examples of the good and the not so good and demonstrate minor changes that make a big difference in the user’s experience.

The three authors of the 2023 All Iowa Reads titles will appear in virtual visits this June. The visits are free and open to the public; registration is required. These events are NOT for CE credit.

Check it Out! is a monthly webinar series from the State Library of Iowa spotlighting the best new books for ages 0-18. Youth Services Consultant Janeé Jackson-Doering will share collection development tips, programming ideas, and of course, new titles galore for kids and teens. This is a fun, fast-paced session that will fill both your library shelves and your TBR list!

They feature in practice librarians talking about what they're up to, so others can benefit & apply that idea in their library.
