From: Massillon MuseumStark County Artists Exhibition Submission Deadline Is July 17
Entries for the Massillon Museum’s 2023 Stark County Artists Exhibition will be accepted from now until Monday, July 17. The exhibition will open November 30, 2023, with a reception from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. The exhibition will continue through January 14, 2024.
The annual exhibition is open to present and former Stark County residents and to those currently working in Stark County, eighteen years and older. Each artist may submit up to three digital images of artwork completed within the past two years. Artwork in any medium will be considered.
This year’s jurors will be: Cleveland artist Davon Brantley; Melissa Stallard, associate professor and photography area coordinator, University of Akron; and Steve Mountz, an artist and art instructor from Salem, Ohio. They will select artwork to be included in the exhibition as well as the prizes: Best in Show, $300; Second Place, $200; and Third Place, $100. Visitors throughout the exhibition will vote for the People’s Choice Award, $100.

To receive a form by mail, email [email protected] or call 330.833.4061. A non-refundable $15 per artwork or $30 for three is due when entries are submitted. Artwork may be for sale; MassMu will retain a 30% commission on work sold.
Artists who need help photographing their artwork for submission may contact photographer Mandy Altimus Stahl, the Museum’s archivist, at 330.833.4061 x113 or [email protected] for an appointment. The fee will be $5 per photo.
